Popular Ogun River, a part of it which flows under the Kara Bridge around Ojodu Berger area of Lagos State suddenly went dry yesterday June 18th 2016.
According to residents of the area, they went to bed on the 17th with the river flowing only to wake up the next morning to see the river, which served as one of their means of transportation where canoes were used to reach the dense waters, totally dry.

There were initial suspicion that this could be water hyacinth but the surface of what used to be the flowing river had become a firm ground.
