A suicide bomber in Cameroon was shot by a poisoned arrow from local militiamen just before she could blow herself in the Northern Cameroonian town of Mora.
The local militia, Cameroon's version of the civilain JTF is one of many springing up all over Nigeria’s neighbouring country, fight against the marauding menace of Boko Haram, who now carry out attacks with as much fervour in Cameroon as they do in Nigeria.
The woman, a 40 year old, crossed into the country from Nigeria, travelling with a fourteen year old girl. Despite repeated demands to stop, she refused, leading to her being shot with the poisoned arrow, which incidentally stopped her from detonating her vest.
The 14 year old girl, however, did blow herself up.
The terrorist group has increasingly utilised captives, especially women, to aid their suicide bombing offensive. The government of Cameroon has responded to the threat by giving leeway to these so-called militia groups to aid towns in their defences.
